For anything detailed or multi-layer (glitter stacks, intricate themed scenes, business logos), give it one to two weeks. And if your event lands on a busy weekend or a holiday, order earlier rather than later. The sooner we have your design and date, the more breathing room we both have.
That said, life moves fast and dates sneak up. We do rush orders too — so even if your event is close, it’s worth asking before you assume it’s too late.
Why Timing Matters for a Custom Topper
A custom cake topper isn’t pulled off a shelf. Each one is designed to match your specific cake, then precision-cut on our Cricut from cardstock or specialty materials. That design-and-cut process is quick for a clean name topper, but a layered, multi-color, glitter-finish piece takes more time to build right.
Ordering with a little cushion gives you room to:

Recommended Lead Times by Topper Type
Simple Toppers — A Few Days
A single name, an age number, or a basic one-color design comes together fast. A few days’ notice is usually all we need, and same-week turnaround is common.
Detailed or Themed Toppers — About 1 Week
Multi-color designs, character themes, or anything with fine cut detail benefit from roughly a week. This gives us time to design it, confirm it with you, and cut it clean.
Multi-Layer, Glitter & Premium Toppers — 1–2 Weeks
Stacked layers, glitter cardstock, and intricate scenes are where the extra lead time really pays off. One to two weeks keeps everything relaxed and lets us perfect the details.
Weddings, Quinceañeras & Big Events — Earlier Is Better
For milestone events, build in extra buffer. These often have specific themes, exact color matching, and zero room for a do-over on the day — so reach out as soon as you have your design direction.
What About Rush Orders?
Tight date? Don’t count yourself out. Rush options are often possible — it just depends on the design and our current schedule. The best move is to send your idea and event date right away so we can tell you honestly what’s doable. We’d much rather find a way to make it work than have you go without.

- Your design idea — a name, theme, reference photo, or just a description. We can work from any of these.
- Colors — share your palette or the cake colors so the topper matches.
- Your event date — this is the big one. It tells us exactly how much time we have and whether rush handling is needed.
- Quantity — one topper or several.
Send that over and we’ll reply with a clear price and a turnaround that fits your date, usually within one business day.
